“Andrew Benson is a video feedback aesthete who works with code intuitively. ‘Mineral Ghost’ is an iconic example of his gestural software paintings that are converted to looping GIF animations. To make his unique work, he creates his own software tools — bespoke code that is completely tailored to his process and unlike code written by anyone else.” —Casey REAS
Since a2p, Andrew has released many NFT series related to “Mineral Ghost,” such as “Grinders” and “Transient Maps.” Andrew debuted new work on Feral File in the first exhibition, Social Codes, in March 2021.
